South Louisiana Community College will likely soon have a spot on the Lafayette Economic Development Authority's board of commissioners, giving the school a louder voice on local economic issues. Load Error State Sen. Gerald Boudreaux, a Democrat from Lafayette and one of LEDA's biggest allies in the legislature, authored Senate Bill 480, which would make some changes to the composition of LEDA's board of commissioners, including giving SLCC a seat at the table. "The last time that we made any adjustments to this legislation was in 1988," Boudreaux said on the senate floor in April.
